Subject: Connection from LAN to DMZ
Feedback Type: Problem
Product Area: Notes Client
Technical Area: Administration
Platform: Windows
Release: 8.5
Reproducible: Always

Hi,

I changed the network configuration of my office recently, I installed an Cisco ASA 5505 firewall and shifted my Notes server to the DMZ.

Notes Server IP in DMZ: 1.1.1.2
Local LAN subnet: 2.2.2.0/24

I modified the Active Directory to add in hostnname mail.mydomain.com will resolve to be 1.1.1.2

When I try to run my Notes Client to retrieve mail, it will complain that Notes server cannot be found, however if I put in the actual IP address instead of hostname, it works.

I ping the hostname mail.mydomain.com from internal LAN and it was able to resolve the correct IP 1.1.1.2.

I tried using iNotes and use the url mail.mydoman.com and it was able to connect as well.

Somehow the hostname cannot be used in Lotus client, can any help me on this?

Thanks
